Title: Knowledge Manager

Key Role:
Provide high-level knowledge management planning and hands-on implementation support for the purpose of leveraging enterprise-wide knowledge assets for competitive advantage of supported users. Work to support the goal of creating or capturing knowledge and being able to reuse it many times to the benefit of community of practice and community of interest (COP/COl) users, multiple departments, offices, commands, or organizations. Support Navy and coalition exercises, and provide direct support to the MOC and joint task force (JTF) joint operations center (JOC). Review and evaluate KM processes and documents by completing a summary of the process to be reviewed to the stakeholders and develop process maps by documenting the existing processes that must be captured along with a process map documenting the new and proposed process. Develop knowledge value assessments (KVAs) indicating time, personnel required, tasks, and manpower values must also be completed. Analyze, manage, and implement training materials and courseware to promote and improve KM capabilities. Conduct monthly user training on use of command KM capabilities and resources, facilitate CoP and CoI affinity groups, and manage a community of excellence recognition program to support CoP and CoI models.
Basic Qualifications:
-3 years of experience with project management, knowledge management, business process improvement, or information management
-2 years of experience with data collection and sharing programs, including collaboration at sea, enterprise knowledge management, and Microsoft SharePoint
-Experience with organizational knowledge assets
-Experience with problem management tools and measurement model development
-Experience with sharing information through networking using the latest tools, including blogging and social media services
-Knowledge of the Navy and DoD regulations and protocols for information dissemination
-Ability to obtain certified knowledge manager (CKM) certification
-TS/SCI clearance required
-HS diploma or GED
Additional Qualifications:
-Experience with attending a float knowledge management course and department of the Navy chief information officer command km course
-Possession excellent oral and written communications skills
-BA or BS in CS or in a related field preferred
-CKM Certification
